Visitation will be held on Friday from 10:30 – 11:30 AM at Dorsey Funeral Home, Inc. in Ossining.
The Funeral Mass will follow the visiting at St. Augustine’s Church, in Ossining at 12:00 noon.
Mrs. Franzese’s interment will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY
Virginia Franzese
January 5, 1929 - July 6, 2020
Virginia Franzese, a resident of Ossining and formerly of the Bronx, Yonkers, and New Rochelle, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2020.
Virginia was born in the Bronx on January 5, 1929 and was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Antoinette (DeRosa) Benevento.
She was 91.
Mrs. Franzese was a former Teachers Aide at the Theodore Roosevelt High School in the Bronx, NY and retired in June of 1996.
She married Michael Franzese on April 23, 1950 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in the Bronx.
Mr. Franzese predeceased Virginia on January 26, 1976.
Virginia was known to be a very friendly and social person, with an outgoing personality. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. When she resided in New Rochelle, she enjoyed attending the Senior Center; she enjoyed playing canasta and mah jongg. She enjoyed watching classic movies.
Mrs. Franzese is survived by her 2 children Michael (Evelyn) Franzese and Donna Franzese; her siblings Madeline Benevento and Jack Benevento; and her grandchildren Michael and Christina Franzese.
Virginia was also predeceased by her sister Rose DiBene.
