Mary H. Burckhard, a lifelong resident of Ossining, passed away Tuesday, November 20. 2012. Mary was born in Ossining, NY on January 7, 1919 and she was the daughter of Owen and Ellen (Finegan) Hand. She was 93.
Mary was a proud former Billing Clerk of the Westchester Lighting Company in Ossining. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Augustine Church and the last surviving member of the Sacred Heart Society. She was also dedicated member of the Golden Eagles.
Mrs. Burckhard is survived by her five sons Gerard, Paul, Joseph, George and Kevin and two daughters Marybeth Sevelovitz and Barbara Parthemore; thirteen grandchildren Brian, Ariane, Joshus, Jeffrey, Daniel, Charlie, Kevin Jr., Stephanie, Eric, Daniel, Robert Joseph and David and eight great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband Joseph W. Burckhard and her grandson Gerard Jr.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday 2 to 4 ' 7 to 9 pm, with the Funeral Mass Monday at 10 am at St. Augustine’s Church. Interment will follow at St. Augustine’s Cemetery.
