Heide Loistl (Oma)
April 22, 1942 - April 15, 2018
Heide Loistl (Oma) passed away on April 15 at the age of 75.
She was born to Wilhelm and Irmgard (Kaiser) Ziegler in Bad Cannstatt, Germany. She immigrated to the United States in 1964 following her soon to be husband Herbert Loistl. In 1965, they married first in a civil service in Yonkers, N.Y., later followed by a church service in Esslingen, Germany one month later.
She worked in photography studios in both Germany and the U.S. before becoming a mom and homemaker when her daughter, Christine, was born. Many happy times were spent returning to Germany, in the Adirondack and Catskill mountains, Florida, and at home in Ossining.
She lived gracefully with Multiple Sclerosis for many years enjoying living and laughing with her family and friends who remember her as an inspirational, positive, happy, sweet, sassy lady. Instead of mourning her loss for ourselves, we mourn her loss for all of those who never had the chance to meet her.
She is survived by her daughter, Christine Loistl-Pointer, son-in-law, W. Andrew Pointer, and granddaughter, Caitlin Pointer, all of Ossining.
Many loving family members and special friends in the U.S. and Germany share in the grief of Heide’s passing.
Services and her interment will be private.
Please honor Heide by donating blood and platelets to your local blood bank and signing up for organ donation. Memorial donations can also be sent to the dedicated members of the Ossining Volunteer Ambulance Corps or Phelps Memorial Hospital Center would be appreciated. We thank Dr. Michael McCormick and all of the angels at Phelps Memorial Hospital for their loving support and Dorsey Funeral Home for handling the arrangements.
