Virginia M. Cavanaugh November 28, 1920 - July 29, 2010 Virginia M. Cavanaugh, a long time resident of Ossining, passed away on July 29, 2010, in Cocoa Beach FL. Ginny was born in Lockport, NY to John and Ellen Wylam on November 28, 1920. She married John D. Cavanaugh, who pre-deceased her, on October 22, 1942. During WW II Ginny served as a civilian employee of Army Intelligence in Maryland and Rio de Janeiro. After the war they lived in Medford, Massachusetts before moving to Ossining in 1955. Virginia worked as with Real Estate Broker at the Byington Agency in Ossining and Village and Country in Croton. Ginny was active in The Ossining Historical Society and The Ossining Women's club, serving as president of both organizations Ginny is survived by three children; Jane (Richard), Molly (John) Williams and Christopher (Gail); three grandchildren; Erin (Scott) Gaynor, Maggie and Cooper Cavanaugh and three great grandchildren Katie, Mollie and Jack Gaynor. In addition to her husband she is predeceased by her son, John Andrew. Memorial visiting hours will be held on Sunday, August 8th from 6-9 pm with the Memorial Funeral Mass on Monday 11:30 am at St. Ann's Church, 25 Eastern Avenue, Ossining (914) 941-2556.
