Warren E Stahl January 18, 1925 - February 1, 2010 Warren E Stahl, a former Chief of Police in the Village of Ossining died Monday February 1, 2010 at Phelps Memorial Hospital. Chief Stahl was born January 18, 1925 in the Bronx, N.Y. to Louis and Elizabeth (Frede) Stahl. Warren attended city schools and graduated from DeWitt Clinton High School in 1942 at which time he enlisted in the military service. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps fourth Division as a combat radio operator throughout the Pacific Islands, including Iwo Jima. At war's end he was stationed in North China with the 6th Division for 6 months. Upon discharge he was employed by the N.Y. Telephone Co. which he left in 1959 to become a police officer. In 1949 Warren married Marion von Hasseln and resided in Ossining since. Warren was an avid golfer, tennis player and scuba diver. Mr. Stahl is survived by his wife Marion (von Hasseln) and was predeceased by his daughter Patricia Cito on July 27, 2007. Visiting hours will be held at Dorsey Funeral Home in Ossining on Friday from 2-4 pm only. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at St. Ann's Church at 10:00 AM. The interment will follow at St. Augustine's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
