George J. Leggio July 21, 1923 - March 23, 2004 George J. Leggio a former resident of Tarrytown died Tuesday March 23, 2004 in Greensboro, N.C. George was born in Tarrytown on July 21 1923 and was the son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Biazzo) Leggio. He was 80 years old. George attended Tarrytown Schools and was Army Corporal in WW II and served in Japan. Upon returning from the Service he was an owner/ operator of several restaurants in Westchester. He married his wife Catherine Tassoni and raised his family in Tarrytown. He was a member of the Tarrytown Fire Department, Fire Patrol Company #1. His 4 sons Joseph, George, Thomas and Charles, his 7 grandchildren, survive Mr. Leggio. His wife Catherine in 1984 and his sister Mary Sawyer predeceased him in 2003. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday (today) from 2-4 & 7-9 PM with the Funeral Mass on Friday at 10:00 AM at St. Ann's Church in Ossining. The interment and military honors will follow at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
