G. Peter Gross

G. Peter Gross March 6, 1939 - December 23, 2009 G. Peter Gross of Ossining died Wednesday, December 23, 2009. Born in New York City on March 6, 1939 to Frances (Waldman) and George Gross, he grew up in Mt. Vernon, NY. Peter graduated from Colgate University and Columbia Law School, and practiced law in New York City for many years. He served in the New York National Guard. As an enthusiastic member of the Ossining community for forty years, he was an original member of the United Ossining Party in the early seventies, a member of the Village Zoning Board of Appeals, the Ossining School Board, and Town Democratic Committee. He loved music and was an avid baseball fan. He rooted always for the Mets. Peter was a member of St. Paul's-On-The-Hill Episcopal Church where he joyfully sang in the choir. Peter is survived by his wife N. Julia Gross, daughters Kathryn Gross Coletta, Jennifer Gross, and Rachel Gross Delbos, sons in law David Steven Bogartz Coletta, Brendan Cameron Delbos, granddaughters Lucy Rain Coletta and Rebecca Lily Delbos, sisters Patricia Cautilli and Virginia Cox and brother in law Richard Cautilli. He will be sorely missed. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday 2-4pm only and Sunday 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 11am at St.-Paul's-On-The-Hill, 40 Ganung Drive, Ossining, NY 10562. The cremation will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St.-Paul's-On-The-Hill Episcopal Church or Columbia Presbyterian Heart Transplant Center, 622 W. 168th Street, Room 1273, New York, NY 10032.
