Thomas J. Brennen

Thomas J. Brennen passed away October 12, 2009 Thomas J. Brennen a resident of Ossining passed away Monday October 12, 2009. Thomas was born in Yonkers and was the son of Thomas and Elizabeth (Gorman) Brennen. He was 85. Thomas grew up in Hastings and graduated from Hastings High School. He then attended the University of Alabama. World War II interrupted his education when Thomas enlisted in the Navy and fought in the Pacific Theatre for 3 years. He was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds that he received. After returning home Thomas finished his education and graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in Journalism. Thomas then worked in NYC for over 36 years in Graphic Arts. Thomas married Ilo Petersen in 1952 and had 5 sons, Mark James, Gregory Thomas, Jon Peter, Charles Thomas and Timothy Arthur (a sixth son Jeffrey Thomas died at 12 days of age); his sister Jane Bartro; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held at Dorsey Funeral Home in Ossining on Thursday from 5-9 PM where the services will be held at the funeral home chapel 8:00 PM.
