Richard (Dick) L. Carter September 16, 1931 - March 12, 200 Richard (Dick) L. Carter, a resident of Ossining and formerly of the Bronx died March 12, 2004 after a long illness. He was born in N.Y. City on September 16, 1931 and was the son of Reginald and Cordelia Carter. He was 73 years old. Richard was a graduate of Auburn High School, Xavier University and Tuskegee. He worked as a physical Therapist at the VA Hospital in the Bronx for over 30 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and active in Ossining working with children locally in sports. Dick also played semi-pro football. Richard is survived by his wife of 42 years Luceda (Vivican), three children Pamela, Lee and Corey, their spouses and 8 grandchildren. He leaves behind his mother Cordelia, a brother David, four sisters Marilyn Frender, Dorothy Berryhill, Anita Freeman and Norma Holder-Hall and many other family members and friends. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM with the funeral service at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:00 AM. The interment will follow at St. Augustine Cemetery.
