Jean M. Knapp

Jean M. Knapp October 18, 1923 - January 23, 2009 Jean M. Knapp a lifelong Ossining resident passed away Friday January 23, 2009 at Phelps Memorial Hospital. Jean was born in Ossining on October 18, 1923 and was the daughter of Frank T. and Mary E. Creighton. She was 85. Jean married Adolph T. Knapp on October 6, 1946 at St. Augustine's Church in Ossining. He predeceased her on February 28, 1993. Jean was a retired Social Worker with the Westchester County Department of Social Services and retired on October 12, 1995 after 25 Years with the department. She also volunteered with St. Ann's Church for many years in the office. Jean is survived by her daughter Gail (Jeffrey) Bange; her son John (Cheryl); her beloved grandson Peter (Karen) McCormick; 3 great grandchildren Carly and Sidney McCormick and Michael Knapp; her niece Carol Gibbs. She was predeceased by her 2 Sisters Anita Jentzsch and Ruth Gambino; her nephew Robert Jentzsch; her 2 nieces Bonnie Hurlburt and Nancy Mammana. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday January 31 at 2 PM at St. Ann's Church in Ossining, (941-2556). The interment was held privately at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. Dorsey Funeral Home in Ossining handled the funeral arrangements.
