Mary Nacinovich (nee DiMichele)

Mary Nacinovich (nee DiMichele) October 2, 1918 - December 31, 2008 Mary Nacinovich (nee DiMichele) of Ossining passed away on Wednesday December 31, 2008 at Phelps Memorial Hospital. She had resided at Elant at Brandywine since 2005. Mary was born on October 2, 1918 in Penne, Pescara, Italy to Antonio and Elvira DiMichele. She immigrated to the United States and to Ossining in 1931 with her parents, brothers Mario, Armando (Mike) and Peter and sister, Gilda Hilpertshauser, all of whom predeceased her. She married Joe Nacinovich on July 18, 1939. He died in 1994. She is survived by her son Tony and his wife Ellen of Sarasota, Florida; grandchildren Mark (Kathy) of Las Vegas and Christy of New York City; and two great-granddaughters. Mary was an active parishioner at St. Ann's in Ossining and more recently at St. Teresa's in Briarcliff, where she regularly assisted with morning mass administration. She was employed in food service at Ossining High School for over a decade and later worked at IBM in Sleepy Hollow. She was a volunteer for many years at Phelps Memorial Hospital. She was an extraordinary cook and shared her bountiful preparations generously with family and friends. Her cheerful good nature and sincere caring for others endeared her to all who were privileged to know her. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 2-5 PM with the Funeral Mass Monday at 10 AM at St. Theresa's Church. The interment will follow at St. Augustine's Cemetery.
