Elisabeth Clemmens, MD February 17, 1921 - October 29, 2008 Elisabeth Clemmens, MD a resident of Ossining passed away peacefully at home Wednesday October 29, 2008. Dr. Clemmons was born in Hamburg, Germany on February 17, 1921 and was the daughter of Heinrich & Renata (Poelchau) Burchard. She was 87. Dr. Clemmons immigrated to The U.S. approximately 1952 with the help of the Ventnor Foundation. She graduated from medical school and then served her residency in N.Y. where she met her husband Edward R. Clemmons, M.D. Dr. Clemmons had a private practice in Ossining and also was a former consulting psychiatrist for the Ossining School District and was on the staff of the Pleasantville Cottage School for many years. Elisabeth was an avid equestrian, she loved her dogs, fine German chocolates and to travel. She was a member for over 50 years of the First Presbyterian Church in Ossining. Dr. Clemmons is survived is survived by son Thomas (Lisa), her daughter Barbara and her grandchildren Sarah and Jesse. She was predeceased by her husband Edward R. Clemmons, M.D. on September 5, 2003. A funeral service will be held Saturday Nov. 1st at 11:00 AM at the 1st Presbyterian Church, 34 S. Highland Ave., Ossining 914-941-0540. The interment will follow at Dale Cemetery in Ossining. Funeral arrangements were handled by Dorsey Funeral Home in Ossining.
