Paul S. Hoffman

Paul S. Hoffman December 12, 1933 - March 24, 2008 Paul S. Hoffman, a resident of Croton-on-Hudson for 45 yrs, died suddenly on Monday, March 24, 2008, at 74 yrs of age. Paul was very active in the community, including serving as an acting Judge with the Village of Croton, former Village of Croton Trustee, and service on the School Board. Paul participated in the Rotary Club of Croton, and was a recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow award from the Rotary, "in appreciation of tangible and significant assistance given for the furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations among peoples of the world." He was on the Croton Caring Committee Board, and the Croton Yacht Club. Paul and his family hosted three international AFS students in their home each for a year. Paul practiced law specializing in computer software contracting from his office in downtown Croton, and was the author of the "Software Legal Book". Paul was born in Harrisburg, PA on December 12, 1933. He was a veteran, serving with the 82nd Airborne. He graduated from Gettysburg College in 1957 and Harvard Law School in 1962. Paul is survived by his wife Pat; his children Eric (Ruth) Hoffman, Kathryn (Stephen) Verkouw, Julie Smith and Margot (Paul) Rippey and 17 grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, and services Saturday at 11:00 AM, both at Dorsey Funeral Home in Ossining. The interment at a Veteran's Cemetery will be private.
