Richard (Digger) Garrett January 25, 1935 - November 4, 2007 Richard (Digger) Garrett age 72, a former resident of Ossining died Sunday November 4, 2007 in Binghamton, NY. Richy was born in Ossining on January 25, 1935 and was the son of Edward and Elizabeth (Sanford) Garrett. Richy was the retired superintendent of St. Augustine's Cemetery. The Charter President of the Hudson River Fishermen Assoc. which fought to end the polluting and clean up the Hudson River. He was also a former member and House Chairman of the Sun Up Rod and Gun Club. Mr. Garrett is survived by children Richard (Jacqueline), Donna (Tim) Garrett, Kenny (Darlene), Patrick (P.K.), Daniel (Olivia); his former wife Gloria, his companion Carolyn Appley; his siblings Edith Carey, Helen Peterson and Edward; 9 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Jack. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday (today) from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM with the funeral mass on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at St. Augustine's Church.
