Edna Valentine May 25, 1917 - January 27, 2004 Edna Valentine- lifelong resident of Ossining died Tuesday January 27th, 2004. Edna was born in Ossining on May 25, 1917 and was the daughter of Irving and Catherine Anderson Valentine. Edna was 89 and for the past 9 years resided at St. Cabrini Nursing Home in Dobbs Ferry. Edna was a graduate of Ossining High School and immediately went to work for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. in the Ossining office, when the Ossining office closed she transferred to the home office of Met. Life in N.Y. City and retired from there as the Secretary to the President. Upon her retirement from Metropolitan Life she became a volunteer at St. Ann's Church giving as many as 60 volunteer hours a week. Edna was the former Secretary for the Ossining Community Christmas Crèche Committee of which her mother was co-founder along with Jesse Collyer. Edna was also a member of the third order of St. Dominick. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM with the Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10:00 AM at St. Ann's Church the interment will follow at St. Augustine's Cemetery.
