George J. Camp May 25, 2007 - May 25, 2007 George J. Camp - a former longtime resident of Ossining and resident of Verplanck passed away Friday at Phelps Hospital on Friday May 25, 2007. George “THE GENERAL” was born in Ossining on July 12, 1930 and was the son of Leroy and Annunziata (DeFalco) Camp, he was 76. George was a graduate of Ossining High School and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force Reserves from 1950-1957. He was a retired Patrolman with the Village of Ossining Police Dept and retired in 1974. He was a member and former driver of the Ossining Fire Dept., Monitor Hose Co. #4 for over 50 years. George loved to go fishing and crabbing at the Verplanck fishing pier, fishing with his fellow policeman for bluefish out of Sheepshead Bay and spending time at Silvan Lake in his trailer with friends. George is survived by his 5 children Gail Zubradt, Theresa (Dave) Ullman, George (Jo Ann Davis), Donna (Roland) Dick and Colleen (Rich) Freda; his fiancée Rita Mackey; 8 grandchildren Justin & Brian Zubradt, Stephanie Ullman, Andrew and Jason Dick, Brendon and Evan Camp and Jared Freda. He is also survived by his former wife Mary and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Frank, Nick, Carmen (Ninu), Tommy (Shamus),Tony, Leroy (Riggy), Dom; his sisters Jenny Marazino and Florence Cesa. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 7-9 PM and Monday from 5-9 PM. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 AM at St. Ann's Church.
