Helene DeSilva March 13, 1918 - May 9, 2007 Helene DeSilva a lifelong resident of Ossining died Wednesday May 9, 2007 at Cedar Manor Nursing Home. Phyllis was born in Ossining on March 13, 1918 and was the daughter of the late Enrico and Louisa (Castriana) Planamenta, she was 89. Helene attended Ossining schools and was a communicant of St. Augustine's Church in Ossining. She is survived by her sons Dennis (Linda) of Cyprus, TX and Jack; her 2 brothers Sydney and Richard Planamenta; her grandchildren Timothy (Angela), Dennis (Elise), Deanne (Kevin) Battles and Christina (Steve). She was predeceased by her husband Manuel on August 8, 1973; her siblings Edward, Anthony, Antoinette Zaccardi and Florence DeFalco. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 7-9 PM with the services at the funeral home on Monday at 9:00 AM. The interment will follow at St. Augustine's Cemetery.
